(CORONA) IMMEDIATE AID
In the spring of 2020, the world was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. This was an unprecedented and unusual situation requiring extraordinary measures. The pandemic also affected Burundi. The ADP (Association pour le Développement et la Paix), our partner organization in Burundi, faced entirely new challenges. RAPRED Girubuntu eV supported the ADP's staff in their efforts to combat the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
RAPRED-girubuntu eV received funding for this from the Baden-Württemberg Foundation for Development Cooperation ('bwirkt'). The long-standing collaboration between RAPRED-girubuntu eV and the ADP enables the use of these funds for direct solidarity aid and a perfect adaptation of the measures to the specific needs on the ground.
This involves one-off emergency aid and one-off measures, such as:
• Measures for the prevention or management of the pandemic (medical / logistical).
• Basic healthcare (distribution of basic medications; production and distribution of masks;
(Setting up handwashing stations).
• Awareness projects (creation of educational material on medical topics, behavior and
Protective measures against Covid-19).
